Operation Guitar Boy : ウィキペディア英語版
Operation Guitar Boy

Operation Guitar Boy was the code-name for an attempted coup d'état on April 17, 1967 in Ghana, by a group of junior officers of the Ghana Armed Forces. Although unsuccessful, the coup resulted in the assassination of Lieutenant General Emmanuel Kwasi Kotoka, Ghana's Chief of the Defence Staff.
==Background==
On February 24, 1966, a military coup took place, with the military of Ghana overthrowing the Convention People's Party (CPP) government of the Republic of Ghana's first President, Kwame Nkrumah. The ruling military government dubbed itself the National Liberation Council (NLC), and Kotoka, as General Officer Commanding the Ghana Armed Forces, was a key figure in the Council.〔Ogunbiyi, Tokunbo: (Forty Years After 'Operation Guitar Boy', and the Nigerian Connection ), ''Nigeriaworld'', April 17, 2007.〕
